The Tour starts in Akureyri were you can be picked up from your hotel. After 30 min drive we arrive at Hauganes harbor were we board our boat for the Whale Watching and sea angling trip.

Nķels Jónsson ehf is a old and rooted family company that started sailing with tourists over the summertime in 1989, and began to take people on Whale Watching excursions  the summer 1993.

The boat, Nķels Jónsson EA-106 is spacious and lovely on the eyes with a passenger capacity of 45 people. The boat is captained by a professional fisherman with decades of experience. We sail on the beautiful Eyjafjöršur in search of whales but we also try catching some fish for those who are interested. This is a fully guided tour and we offer coffee and homemade pastries.

Humpbacks, minke whales, dolphins and porpoises are commonly spotted during these popular tours. To ensure that the animals are not disturbed by our presence, we sail at a constant speed towards the whales’ habitat. As a result, a variety of species, from humpback whales to tiny porpoises, often surface within a few feet of the boat.
