This tour takes you to few of natures wonders; Asbyrgi, Dettifoss and Myvatn. Landscape transformed by eruptions and catastrophic floods thousands of years a go. Dettifoss is believed to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe. This day tour ends with a visit to the Myvatn Nature Baths, before we head back to Akureyri.

Departing from the tourist info in Akureyri we head to the fishing village of Hśsavķk on our way to one of the wonders of nature, Įsbyrgi. Įsbyrgi is a huge horseshoe shaped depression that was created by catastrophic glacial bursts 2000 - 7000 years ago. From Įsbyrgi we go to Dettifoss; Europe“s most powerful waterfall. The falls are more then 100 meters wide and 44 meters high. The ground almost shakes beneath your feet as you get closer to this magnificent falls. Along the way to the waterfall we stop at a few places of interest, such as Hljóšaklettar and Hólmatungur. Here we can see some of the most beautiful scenery, unusual rock formations and basaltic columns in Iceland.
From Dettifoss we go to Hverir with its bubbling mud pits and hot springs this really is a unique area. A short drive takes us to lake Mżvatn. With a panoramic view along the way we stop at the Mżvatn Nature Baths where we can enjoy some refreshments and relax in the lagoon (additional cost). Our last stop is at the beautiful waterfall Gošafoss before arriving back in Akureyri.
